Description
This Moroccan Chevron Amethyst Specimen is brand new from the country of Morocco. Not much is known about these pieces yet, but I’ve managed to get my hands on just a few boxes of this new material. Allow the pastel violet energies to work with you, calming your mind and easing your woes.
Amethyst is one of the most famous, and well known, crystals to be discovered on earth. Amethyst is a member of the larger Quartz (Silicon Dioxide) family. This family includes minerals such as Citrine, Smokey Quartz and Aventurine. Amethyst receives it’s vivid, violet colour from the inclusion of Iron within the crystalline structure. Depending on the saturation, you can identify the levels of Iron within the structure. Pale violet hues are due to low levels of Iron, while rich hues come from higher levels of iron. Most Amethyst is found within Brazil; but Amethyst can also be found in Uruguay, America, Scotland, Australia, Turkey, and many other countries around the world.
This violet mineral receives its name from the Greek word ‘amethustos’, which roughly translates to ‘non-drunk’. This comes as no surprise. The Ancient Greeks often created goblets out of Amethyst, believing it would stop them becoming drunk and disorderly. Overtime, this tradition has faded, but healers around the world often prescribe Amethyst to help with various addictions. Amethyst works to break the attachment cords specific to each individual, helping to break the cycle of addiction. This mineral will further work to reduce any withdrawal symptoms, and help the client understand how to leave the addiction in the past.
Amethyst is also famous for its ability to help those who suffer from insomnia. Amethyst helps to reduce active Beta brainwaves, while promoting Alpha and Delta. Beta Brainwaves are characteristic of a highly alert and focused mind; while Alpha and Delta helps reduce ‘mind chatter’ and promote relaxation. These Alpha brainwaves also help you to recover from stressful situations and emotional despair. Alpha brainwaves can also help you to set your minds attention away from outside distractions, ideal for those who wish to meditate. The best way to use Amethyst for this method, is to keep a small piece on your bedside cabinet or under your pillow.
